Botox Treatment for Excessive Foot Sweating

Many people have severely sweaty feet, known medically as pedal hyperhidrosis.  Excessively sweaty feet pose both physical, medical and social problems for patients. Shoes can be ruined, sandals cannot be worn, and foot odor and fungal infection can become problematic. Slippery shoes can become a tripping hazard if sandals are worn during the summer and sweating is such that the feet slip out of the shoes.

What is Botox?

Botox is a medication that is used in the treatment of excessive sweating. Botox is actually a toxin that is produced by a bacteria known as Clostridium botulinum. The toxin functions by blocking the function of nerves. When the toxin is injected into a specific site, however, only the nerves in that area will be paralyzed.
